Walking Off The Weight - Snack Recipes

Low Calorie Guacamole

Cottage cheese makes this guacamole a much lighter version of the creamy dip, without sacrificing any of the great taste of fresh guacamole.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon grated sweet onion or 1-1/2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced, or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons lemon or lime juice
  • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and cut in chunks
  • 1 tomato, peeled and chopped 


Directions

Put everything but the tomato in a blender and blend until smooth. Fold the chopped tomato in the guacamole mixture. Cover and chill for 2 hours.
Serve with fresh veggies or baked corn chips.

15 calories per tablespoon of the dip.
