Healthy Crème Brulee (low-fat)
If you are a fan of crème brulee, give this
low-fat version a try for a healthier alternative to traditional
creme brulee.
4 Serving
Ingredients
- 2 cups nonfat milk
- 2 tablespoons non-fat powdered milk
- 3/4 cup egg substitute
- 1/3 cup Splenda sugar substitute
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 teaspoons sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 325.
Stir milk into milk powder. Add in egg substitute, 1/3 c splenda,
and vanilla.
Pour mixture into custard cups. Set the cups in a baking pan and
add enough hot water that it goes about halfway up the side of
the custard cups. Bake for about 35 minutes, until custard is
set. Check firmness by sticking a knife in the custard. When the
knife comes out clean, the custard is done. Let it cool on the
counter, then move to the fridge to chill.
Sprinkle 1/2 tsp sugar over top of each custard and place cups
on baking sheet.
Broil 4" from heat until sugar is caramelized (or use a small
kitchen blow torch).
