Pedometers Reviewed

One of my favorite gadgets to keep me motivated is a pedometer. Pedometers count the number of steps you take. Most models will also calculate the distance you have walked, some will even tell you how many calories you've burned and have a watch build in. Here are a few of my favorites.

This is my favorite of the low end pedometers. It has been giving me pretty accurate results when it come to counting steps, is very easy to use and program. It calculates distance based on your step length and calories burned based on your weight. I wear this one all day long to keep up with the steps I take during the day.

Nike Triax V10 SDM Speed Distance Monitor Watch and Footpod Pedometer SM0018-001

If you are looking for a more high tech gadget, this is the one to buy. This is a runner's chronograph stopwatch. Shows lap and split total time. One target pace zone. You select a high and a low pace. The watch beeps outside the zone. Whether it's a long, slow run or a tempo day, it pays to be smart about pace. After a workout, you can review your lap times for up to 100 laps, average pace, and maximum pace. Features a five-segment interval timer, great for a walk-run marathon, or for doing speed work with recovery sessions. Tells the time, date, and features two alarms. Watch is safe in the rain and in the pool. Foot sensor is splash resistant.
